So I have no problem wearing shorts to work. Which I've been doing for the last month. It makes me feel like I'm on vacation all the time. Or at school.
The downside? When you wear shorts, the splashback from the urinal is very prominent. With the jeans on, you didn't know and you didn't care. With the shorts, ugh, it's a different story.
Just try not to think about it.

Lazy Sunday.
At least I feel lazy after knocking off a 10 miler around town this morning. Janis is working on a class this semester and needed me around to watch stuff while she studied. So I got out early for some road miles to free up the rest of the day.
Not many folks out and about in Jefferson, GA at 7 on a Sunday morning. So, like I said on Facebook, it was mostly me and the cows. Which made for a pretty good run. I'm dang sore from Thursday's boot camp but not bad after a couple miles to loosen up.
Rather be on the trails, but the country roads are nice too. Running from the house saves an hour or so and I made it back by 9 to help out.
Janis just headed upstairs hoping for a short nap so I'm on the front porch enjoying the breeze. Nothing lets my obsessive self relax better than an early run. After that the rest of the day is all good.
I'm thinking I'll write some reports covering recent races. But I didn't take pics so I'm waffling back and forth. (mmmmmm . . . waffles) I imagine I'll get around to something eventually if I stick with the blog. It's all about me. :)

Dirty Spokes Gainesville race 2012
Jon and I ran the 5.3 mile trail race at Gainesville College this morning. Tim from Dirty Spokes always puts on a great race.
I was up with the alarm at 6 and started the coffee. I gave Jon a few minutes and went upstairs to knock on his door. True to form, Jon popped up and got ready quickly. He might forget to set his alarm but he always gets up with some help. We packed water bottles and snacks and headed to Gainesville.
After picking up numbers and changing shoes, we got in line for standard pre-race preps.

Plenty of time and a short line makes for happy portapotties.
I think Jon is already planning the post-race food stop.
Tim starts us at 8:30. Jon and I are in our usual rear guard position.
Plenty of room to space out as we run the field before the singletrack.
I was pretty sore from Thursday's boot camp and planned to pace off Jon to take it easy.
After a mile or so, I got hungry. I dug around in my pack but I forgot to stick anything in there. Jon heard me whining and offered a Clif bar.
Yum. Best Clif Bar Ever! I moved up a bit and got a shot of Jon following.
Then the bar kicked in and I took off. All warmed up and feeling the rush, I went ahead to enjoy the run. Passed a few folks and ran on around to the finish. I grabbed some orange and headed back to see Jon come in.
Jon's school schedule this semester made it tough to train but he did great!
The oranges were awesome!
Jon made the call for Waffle House.
Two All-Stars later and we're pretty happy.
I was still kinda hungry.
Another great shirt from Dirty Spokes!
Our times were relatively slow but no worries. It was a beautiful morning to run the trails.
